I'm the founder of this website, and because I have spent the last 20 years working with horses, I'm still coming to terms with "founder" as a positive term.

This course was born out of necessity. It didn't exist when I found myself in a predicament: I was living in a remote area with no qualified farriers available to me. I found a single prospect, and after setting up an initial appointment, he ghosted me. I was in a tough spot.

I know other horse owners have had the same trouble finding and keeping a reliable farrier. In an ideal world, a highly trained, qualified, and affordable farrier would be available for every horse. Until that time comes, I designed this course to help fill the gaps.

Is it safe to learn to trim from an online course?

The welfare of horses is my driving motivation, so I made sure that I could confidently answer this question with "YES!" I developed my program specifically for owners with no other education in trimming techniques, and I ensure that you know what you're doing before moving to the next step by requiring all of my students to pass a safety quiz before moving on to the next topic,

"I knew someone who tried to trim his own horse and the horse ended up permanently lame. How can I be sure this won't happen to me?"

I've been the unfortunate witness to similar outcomes when horse owners have tried to trim hooves without right education or foundation. It's true that there can be drastic, terrible consequences for trimming incorrectly. That's precisely why I created this course. I ensured each module appeals to horse owners with no previous knowledge of hoof trimming. I address safe techniques, knowing your own limits, recognizing when to stop, and troubleshooting how to get started when you have a fear of doing harm to your animal. I believe that my methods can be safely taught in this format, or else I wouldn't promote it. My goal is for all horses to be happier and healthier as a result of properly maintained hooves.

I spent years developing this content and ensuring that I deliver the information in a way that any horse owner can learn to apply my techniques. That being said, if you complete my course and still do not feel prepared to safely trim your horse, I will refund your money.
